Boy Butter's new sensual ad runs during RuPaul’s Drag Race
Boy Butter, manufacturer of a line of personal lubricants, releases the third installment of a love story trilogy between two men, portrayed by models Jerreth Ludwig and Facundo Rodriguez. Titled “Chateau D’Amour,” the ad uses the beautiful French countryside as a backdrop. Ludwig wakes alone in bed in an ivy-covered cottage while Rodriguez runs through a wooded tract. Ludwig bathes, waits on the porch, then by a stream. When Rodriguez arrives at the house, Ludwig greets him, presumably, with a kiss — the final scene ends just before.
Even without the kiss, the ad is extremely sexy and compelling. It debuts on national TV on Friday, January 5, during Season 16 of RuPaul’s Drag Race on MTV, airing in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, and nationwide in Canada on OutTV.
Boy Butter has been running commercials in support of RuPaul’s Drag Race since 2012. Since 2021, their ads capture the romantic sensuality of fragrance and fashion ads of the 1990s.
Following tonight’s premiere, Boy Butter plans to expand the campaign to broader market outlets, including CNBC and Fox Business, and make a splash on sports networks, such as ESPN, Fox Sports, and NFL Network.
